Education

The Obokese Foundation has strategic partnerships in Education.

African Diaspora Education Summit

The Obokese Foundation understands this is a unique time in history to reshape and progress the education system for African children. The median age on the African continent is 19, and education is critical to minimizing youth unemployment and crime. We have been proactive and vigilant in forming strategic partnerships with international Colleges and Universities.

In September 2022, we are hosting the All-Diaspora Educational Summit (ADES). 15 U.S. university presidents and over 100 university educators will attend ADES. ADES will deep-dive and explore advancing the educational system on the African continent.

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania

Fish is a staple of the Ghanian diet, and is key to the livelihoods of many in Ghana’s Central Region. Unfortunately, the fishing industry is at a critical stage due to overfishing and not following sustainable practices. To help solve this, the Obokese Foundation has created a strategic alliance with the Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania will bring its expertise in aquaculture and aquaponics. With aquaponics, farmers can potentially produce more food on less land and follow sustainable practices.

Cape Coast University

Cape Coast University is one of the premier technical universities in Africa. The Obokese Foundation has partnered with CCU to host events such as the ADES, facilitate strategic alliances with universities in the West, as well as the ability to provide quality educational services to African students.

Obokese University of Excellence

The Obokese University of Excellence is a 2019 Year of Return Legacy Project inspired by President of Ghana H.E Nana Akuffo Addo’s vision. The Obokese Foundation created OUE to be the university the continent of Africa needs where African culture is not separate from education, it is as much a part of education as the contemporary subjects are.

We will deliver a world-class curriculum and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs, builders, and servant leader.

Early Childhood Education

While Ghana continues to make strides in primary education, many rural youth are not reading at grade level. The Obokese Foundation plans to tackle this issue by planning teacher workshops to increase preparation and accountability, and by providing more accessible books and learning material to students.
