Moree Heritage Statute

Moree

The Obokese Foundation is working with the city of Moree, in the Central Region of Ghana. Recently, we helped create the 10-foot statue of celebrated fisherman, Ofarnyi Kweigya to memorialize Kweigya’s Moree roots, his contribution to Ghana’s fishing tradition, and his historic migration from and connection to ancient Kemet (Egypt).

The Moree Heritage Statue is now on Google Maps and is near the slave dungeons. Tourists visiting the dungeons will now have an additional tourist destination, bringing funds and support to the Moree community.

Moree is primarily a rural fishing town, and we will work with strategic partners to continue to bring development and increase the income of the community.

Pan African Village

The Obokese Foundation has helped launch the Pan African Village, a community that offers free land to descendants of the horrific Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Building upon the Year of Return, we understand the time is now to bring positive change and allow the children of Africa everywhere the chance to return to their ancestral home to help uplift the African continent.
